Position Description: The successful applicant will work with Dr. Rohan Baker on an ARC-funded Development Project to investigate the structure/function of a novel zinc-binding motif in deubiquitylating enzymes. This project involves the cloning and expression of two deubiquitylating enzymes from yeast and mammals, preparation of structural variants by mutagenesis, protein expression and purification for analysis, and screening for proteins that interact with the zinc-binding motif.

Position Description: To work with Dr. Rohan Baker on projects studying the structure and function of deubiquitylating enzymes. These projects involves the cloning of novel deubiquitylating enzymes from yeast and/or mammals, preparation of structural variants by mutagenesis, protein expression and purification for analysis, cell culture and cell transfection.
